I want to share some good news with you. God became a man. Jesus is fully God and fully man, and He became a man to live the perfect life that I couldn’t live. He came to live the perfect life that you couldn’t live. Now think about that: the perfect life. Jesus never sinned. Jesus never lied, never stole. He never even looked at a woman with lust in His eyes. Jesus never did that once. He never had a bad thought. He never had pride. He never had bad motivations. He was 100% perfect, 100% of the time.
2. The Cross and Resurrection
But then the Bible says that He went to the cross, and on that cross He became our sin. He became our lying. He became our cheating, and our lust, and our pride, and our bad motivations. He became our sin, and He died the death that I should have died, and He died the death that you should have died. But here’s the good news. Since Jesus is God, He can’t stay dead. You can’t kill God. So after three days, Jesus rose up out of the grave, and He conquered sin, He conquered hell, He conquered the grave. And my friends, the Bible says that if you were to repent and believe in the gospel, you too can conquer sin, you too can conquer hell, and you too can conquer death.
3. Repent and Believe
But my friends, it only comes through Jesus. Now as I said, you need to repent, and you need to believe. Now what does that practically mean? Repent—it literally means to change your mind. The way that I define that is that you put Jesus number one in your life. You’re going one direction. You stop, and you turn around, and you follow Him with everything that you possibly have. Now that doesn’t mean you’ll be perfect. I’m not perfect. You can ask anybody who knows me. I’m definitely not perfect. But my heart is sincere in following Him with every aspect, with every cell that I have in my body. I want to follow Him with everything I possibly have.
4. Now is the Time of Salvation
My friends, the Bible says that today is the day of salvation. Now is the time of salvation. Don’t let this time pass you up. I invite you to right now fully surrender your life to Jesus. If you today want to give your life to Jesus, or you want to rededicate your life to Jesus, I invite you to pray this prayer after me. What I’m helping you do is help articulate the words that are in your heart and that are in your mind. Now, I want to say this first. Only Jesus can save you. Only you repenting and believing can save you. There is no magical prayer that will not save you. But if you want to do that today, just repeat after me. Just close your eyes and say, “Dear Lord Jesus Christ, today I give you my life.
5. Your Next Steps
Now my friends, I invite you to go to a friend who you know is in love with Jesus or go to a church and tell them what happened to you and get water baptized and have them pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit to come upon you.
